  • Samsung will reportedly launch the Galaxy S22 series on February 8.
  • The same news outlet claims that the phones will go on sale from February 24.

Samsung is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy S22 series in the coming weeks, with at least one tipster pointing to a launch event on February 8. Now, a Korean website has confirmed this date while providing more clear availability details.

Digital Daily reports (h/t: Sleepy Kuma) that Samsung will host an Unpacked event for the Galaxy S22 series on February 8, with pre-orders starting on February 9 and general sales beginning on February 24.

“We have confirmed that the event will take place on February 8, and we are discussing the timing of sending out invitations until the end of January,” an unnamed Samsung official told the news channel, according to machine translation.

This also means that Samsung will not launch its new phones at MWC 2022, but Digital Daily claims that Samsung will instead use the expo for its Galaxy ecosystem.

The February 8 date was first reported by tipster Jon Prosser last year, though he claimed sales would start on February 18 instead. Anyway, the February 8 launch date seems increasingly likely at this point.
